Nailsea Festival of Music

"We had another very successful Festival on 21 and 22 November, and the results are shown below.  Congratulations to all the winners, and it was lovely to see so many happy smiling faces over the course of the week-end.

We are particularly delighted that the three junior choirs which entered all achieved great marks, and this entitles them to apply to take part in the South West regional Barnardo's Believe Festival due to take place in the Colston Hall on 20 June 2010.  This is a national event, and we are very proud of their excellent results.  We look forward to seeing at least one of them, if not all three, at the Colston Hall.

Our adjudicators were excellent, with thoughtful, helpful and encouraging comments for everyone.  We had two unflappable and top-class accompanists, and were honoured to receive a visit from Mrs Mary Ponsonby, Chairman of Nailsea Town Council, who took time to attend and present medals in a very busy day.

Thank you to all the teachers who demonstrated their support with entries of such a high standard - it is good to know that music and speech and drama are definitely alive and well in our part of the world.

Finally, the committee would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the many and willing volunteers who turned up again this year to help make the event run so smoothly.  We say this every year, but it is absolutely true - we really couldn't manage without you all.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year on 20 and 21 November 2010 - please put the date in your dairy NOW!"
